Introduction

Newcrest has a strong pipeline of development projects and a successful track record of developing and commissioning both large and small scale mines to capitalise on the discoveries of our exploration group. The development portfolio currently consists of four development projects in various stages of development ranging from pre-feasibility to construction and one advanced exploration project. These four development projects comprise Mineral Resources* of 25.9 million ounces of gold and 4.1 million tonnes of copper and Ore Reserves* of 13.8 million ounces of gold and 1.9 million tonnes of copper. Representing, 47% and 42% of the Group's Total Gold Mineral Resource and Gold Ore Reserve base, respectively.

The four current development projects will extend the life of existing mining provinces and optimise shareholder returns by utilising existing infrastructure and production facilities.
