Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Ian was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in July 2006. Prior to joining Newcrest, he was Global Head of Operational and Technical Excellence of Rio Tinto plc, based in London and a member of the Executive Committee and Investment Committee. Ian has over 30 years experience in the global mining industry spanning both operational and project management roles with CRA Limited, Pasminco Limited, WMC Resources Limited and Rio Tinto plc.

Greg Robinson
Bachelor of Science (Hons) Geology and MBA, Columbia University

Finance Director

Greg was appointed Finance Director in November 2006. He is responsible for the Group's Finance function and leads Newcrest's strategy, planning and business development activities. Prior to joining Newcrest, he was with the BHP Billiton Group for the period 2001 to 2006, where he held the positions of Project Director of the Corporation Alignment Project, Chief Finance and Chief Development Officer, Energy and Chief Financial Officer, Petroleum. He was also a member of the Energy Executive Committee and Group Executive Committee. Before joining BHP Billiton, Greg was a Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co and headed the Asia Pacific Metals and Mining Group.

Ron Douglas

Executive General Manager Projects

Ron was appointed Executive General Manager Projects in May 2007. He is responsible for development opportunities through all stages of project development from concept study to construction. Prior to joining Newcrest Ron was Chief Executive Officer with Australian Solomons Gold Limited, and previous to that General Manager with the Rio Tinto Group, including as Managing Director of Anglesey Aluminium Metal Ltd. Ron has over 25 years operational performance and capital development experience within the mining sector in Australia, United Kingdom, USA, South East Asia and Africa.

Bernard Lavery
Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence

Executive General Manager Corporate Services

Bernard was appointed Executive General Manager Corporate Services in February 1996. He is Company Secretary and responsible for the Group's legal, secretariat, internal audit and insurance activities. Bernard joined Newcrest in 1995 as Company Secretary and General Counsel. Bernard has over 20 years legal and company secretariat experience in the mining industry with Ashton and WMC Resources Limited.

Tim Lehany
Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons) and MBA, Melbourne Business School

Executive General Manager Operations

Tim was appointed Executive General Manager Operations in November 2007. He is responsible for all the Group's mining operations. Tim joined Newcrest in 1999 as General Manager Ridgeway Gold Mine and in 2003 was appointed General Manager Cadia Valley Operations. Prior to joining Newcrest he was General Manager of Mt Lyell Mine. Tim has 20 years mining industry experience in technical and operational management roles with MIM Limited, WMC Resources Limited, CSA Mine at Cobar and Mount Lyell.

Colin Moorhead

Executive General Manager Minerals

Colin was appointed Executive General Manager Minerals in January 2008. He is responsible for all geology and exploration activities within Newcrest including Resources and Reserves. He was previously General Manager Technical Services for the Newcrest Group. Colin began his career with BHP Gold over 20 years ago and has extensive geology experience with roles at Newcrest's three major mining provinces - Telfer, Cadia and Gosowong.

Debra Stirling

Executive General Manager People and Communication

Debra was appointed Executive General Manager People and Communication in January 2008. She is responsible for the Group's human resources, corporate affairs and investor relations activities. Prior to joining Newcrest, Debra was Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations with Rinker Group Limited. Debra has more than 20 years of corporate affairs and investor relations experience with Rinker, CSR and Coles Myer.

Dan Wood
Bachelor of Science (Hons) and Master of Science

Exploration Executive

Dan was appointed Exploration Executive in January 2008. He is responsible for facilitation of exploration opportunities and assisting with the strategic formulation of Newcrest's future exploration activities. He was previously Executive General Manager Exploration from December 1995 to December 2007. Dan has been with Newcrest since its formation following the merger of BHP Gold Limited and Newmont Australia Limited in 1990. He has more than 40 years of mineral exploration experience in a diverse range of commodities, both in Australia and overseas.
