Graduate program Q&As

What types of positions are available?
We recruit from the following discipline areas: Engineering (Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, Geotechnical), Environmental Science, Geology, and Metallurgy.

What is the application deadline?

Where could I be based for my role?
Over the two year program, our Graduates are rotated between our Australian operations in Orange, NSW, and our Telfer mine site in WA (FIFO from Perth).  Upon completion of our Program, Graduates are invited to apply for roles at any of our sites including Head Office in Melbourne, or at any of our international sites (visa restrictions do apply).

I have applied to Newcrest before. Can I reapply?
You are welcome to reapply if you still meet our eligibility criteria (including course completion in either 2017 or 2018).

Do you pay relocation expenses?
If you have to move to Orange or Perth start your role with us, we will provide reasonable costs associated with your relocation.

What minimum qualifications do I need to apply for a Graduate role?
The minimum qualification is a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline to which you are applying, and that you have completed/are completing your degree in 2017 or 2018.

Can I defer my start date?
It’s our preference to commence our Graduates on January 14 2019 however, we will work with you to identify a start date that is mutually agreeable should your circumstances require.
