Greg Robinson

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
 

Greg served as Director Finance of Newcrest from 2006 to 2011 and was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Newcrest in July 2011.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Greg was a Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co before he was with the BHP Billiton Group from 2001 to 2006 in various executive roles, including Chief Finance and Chief Development Officer, Energy and Chief Financial Officer, Petroleum. Greg was also a member of the BHP Billiton Group Executive Committee.

Greg is a Director of the Minerals Council of Australia, the World Gold Council, St. Vincent’s Institute and Migration Council Australia, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Gerard Bond

Gerard joined Newcrest as Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer in January 2012 and was appointed to the Board in February 2012.

Gerard has 23 years’ experience in the global financial and resources industry with BHP Billiton, Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse. Prior to joining Newcrest he was with BHP Billiton for over 14 years where he held a number of senior executive roles including Deputy CFO of the Aluminum business, CFO and then Acting President of the Nickel business, and most recently was BHP Billiton’s Head of Group Human Resources. 

Gerard is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and an Alternate Director of the World Gold Council.

Greg Jackson

Greg was appointed Chief Operating Officer, Australian Operations in January 2010 and Chief Operating Officer for the Group in September 2010. Prior to joining Newcrest Greg was with the Rio Tinto group for 29 years where he worked in various operational and project roles including Vice President Construction & Engineering, Diavik Diamond Mines between 2004 and 2008 and more recently as Chief Advisor Major Projects for the RT Technology and Innovation Group.

Scott Langford

Bachelor of Law (Hons), Bachelor of Science

General Counsel and Company Secretary
 

Scott joined Newcrest in July 2012 as General Counsel and was formally appointed as Company Secretary in August 2012.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Scott was a Partner at Allens, a leading commercial law firm. Scott joined Allens in 1987, and became a partner in 1995.  At Allens, Scott was a key legal adviser to major international mining and resource companies, including Rio Tinto and Newcrest, and was co-head of the firm’s Energy and Resources Practice Group.

Colin Moorhead

Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Geology)

Executive General Manager - Minerals
 

Colin has worked as an exploration and mining geologist at Newcrest in various roles since 1987 including Chief Geologist at Telfer, Cadia and Gosowong.  In 2006 he took on the role of General Manager Technical Services for the Newcrest Group. Colin was appointed Executive General Manager - Minerals in January 2008.

Colin is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Debra Stirling

Bachelor of Arts (Government and Journalism)

Executive General Manager - People and Communications
 

Debra was appointed Executive General Manager - People and Communications in January 2008.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Debra was Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations with Rinker Group Limited.

Debra has been a Non-Executive Director of Centro Retail Limited and Federation Centres Limited since December 2011.

Stephen Creese

Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Newcrest Mining Limited


Stephen joined Newcrest Mining Limited as General Counsel & Company Secretary in November 2009.  He was subsequently appointed as Executive General Manager - Corporate Affairs in September 2010 with responsibility for Government, media, legal and the company secretarial function.  In July 2012 Stephen formally assumed responsibility  for the Community Affairs function and transferred responsibility for the Legal and Secretarial functions to Scott Langford.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Stephen was with the Rio Tinto group for 29 years where he worked in various legal and commercial roles, including that of General Counsel of Rio Tinto Limited between 1995 and 2008 and, subsequently as Managing Director Rio Tinto Australia.

Stephen is also the independent chair of the National Employment Services Association (“NESA”) and a part time member of the Australian Takeovers Panel.

Peter Smith

Master of Business Administration

Executive General Manager - Australia and Indonesia Operations 
 

Peter joined Newcrest in 2010 as Executive General Manager - Australian Operations, following the merger with Lihir Gold Limited. In February 2013 he was appointed Executive General Manager - Australia and Indonesia Operations.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Peter was an Executive Director of Western Metals Ltd before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Lihir Gold Limited.

Peter is a Director of the New South Wales Minerals Council and a Non-Executive Director of Evolution Mining Limited.

Brett Fletcher

Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)

Brett joined Newcrest as Executive General Manager - Papua New Guinea and Indonesian Operations in March 2011 and was appointed Executive General Manager - Lihir in March 2013.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Brett was Chief Operating Officer at Oz Minerals, and then he was Chief Operating Officer with the Minerals and Metals Group.

Andrew Logan

Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Mining), Bachelor of Economics and Master of Engineering Science (Rock Mechanics)

Andrew was appointed Executive General Manager - Strategy, Step Change and Technology in July 2011 and in March 2013, was appointed Executive General Manager - Technology.

For over 10 years, Andrew has held a number of operations, studies, technical and business improvement roles across all of Newcrest’s provinces.

Lawrie Conway

Executive General Manager - Commercial and West Africa
 

Lawrie has held a number of commercial and finance roles at Newcrest and prior to 2011 was General Manager Commercial and Planning. Lawrie led the Lihir Gold Limited merger integration. In July 2011 Lawrie was appointed Executive General Manager - Commercial and West Africa.

Prior to joining Newcrest Lawrie held various management roles with BHP Billiton in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Chile.

Lawrie is a Non-Executive Director of Evolution Mining Limited.

Craig Jones

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)

Executive General Manager - Projects and Asset Management
 

Craig joined Newcrest in 2008 as General Manager Projects. In 2010 he held the role of General Manager Cadia Valley Operations in New South Wales. Craig was appointed Executive General Manager - Projects in July 2012 and in March 2013 he assumed additional responsibility for Asset Management.

Prior to joining Newcrest, Craig worked in projects at Rio Tinto.

Geoff Day

In November 2008 Geoff joined Newcrest as Executive General Manager - Operations, and in August 2010 was appointed as Executive General Manager - Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. In April 2013, following a two year period as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Kagara Ltd, Geoff was appointed Executive General Manager - Sustainability and External Affairs.

Prior to joining Newcrest in 2008, Geoff was at Rio Tinto where he was Chief Adviser Processing, and Regional General Manager Africa & Europe.
