Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Greg was appointed Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer in July 2011 following almost 5 years as the company's Director Finance responsible for the Group's finance function, strategy, planning and business development activities. Prior to joining Newcrest, he was with the BHP Billiton Group for the period 2001 to 2006, where he held the positions of Project Director of the Corporation Alignment Project, Chief Finance and Chief Development Officer, Energy and Chief Financial Officer, Petroleum. He was also a member of the Energy Executive Committee and Group Executive Committee. Before joining BHP Billiton, Greg was a Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co and headed the Asia Pacific Metals and Mining Group.

Lawrie Conway

Executive General Manager Commercial and West Africa

Lawrie was appointed Executive General Manager Commercial and West Africa in July 2011. He is responsible for the group’s Concentrate Marketing, Information Technology and Supply & Logistics functions in addition to the West African operations. Lawrie has held a number of commercial and finance roles at Newcrest and was most recently General Manager Commercial and Planning where he led the LGL merger integration. Lawrie has over 20 years experience in the mining industry in various management roles with Newcrest and BHP Billiton in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Chile. Lawrie is also a Director of Evolution Mining.

Stephen Creese

Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs, General Counsel & Company Secretary

Stephen was appointed General Counsel & Company Secretary in November 2009. He is responsible for the Group’s legal and secretarial function and Corporate Affairs. Prior to joining Newcrest, Stephen was with the Rio Tinto group for 29 years where he worked in various legal and commercial roles, including that of General Counsel of Rio Tinto Limited between 1995 and 2008 and, more recently, as Managing Director-Rio Tinto Australia . Stephen is also a part time member of the Australian Takeovers Panel and the independent chair of the National Employment Services Association.

Ron Douglas

Executive General Manager Projects

Ron was appointed Executive General Manager Projects in May 2007. He is responsible for development opportunities through all stages of project development from concept study to construction. Prior to joining Newcrest Ron was Chief Executive Officer with Australian Solomons Gold Limited, and previous to that General Manager with the Rio Tinto Group, including as Managing Director of Anglesey Aluminium Metal Ltd. Ron has over 25 years operational performance and capital development experience within the mining sector in Australia, United Kingdom, USA, South East Asia and Africa.

Brett Fletcher

Executive General Manager PNG & Indonesian Operations

Brett was appointed Executive General Manager PNG & Indonesian Operations in March 2011. He is responsible for our operations across Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, as well as high-level liaison with government departments and ministerial officials in relation to Newcrest’s statutory obligations in these regions. Prior to joining Newcrest Brett was Chief Operating Officer with the Minerals and Metals Group and previous to that Chief Operating Officer at Oz Minerals. Brett has over 23 years operational performance experience, including a range of senior management roles with Zinifex and Pasminco.

Greg Jackson

Chief Operating Officer

Greg was appointed Chief Operating Officer, Australian Operations in January 2010 and Chief Operating Officer for the Group in Sept 2010. Prior to joining Newcrest Greg was with the Rio Tinto group for 29 years where he worked in various operational and project roles including the Vice President Construction & Engineering, Diavik Diamond Mines between 2004 and 2008 and more recently as Chief Advisor Major Projects for the RT Technology and Innovation Group. As well as being responsible for all Newcrest’s operations, Greg also manages safety and health, environment & community, technical services, asset management, mine planning and business excellence across the group.

Andrew Logan

Executive General Manager Strategy, Step Change and Technology

Andrew was appointed Executive General Manager Strategy, Step Change and Technology in July 2011. In addition to the group’s Strategy function, Andrew is responsible for leading the company’s province planning, innovation and technology development initiatives. For over 10 years, he has held a number of operations, studies, technical and business improvement roles across all of Newcrest’s provinces. Andrew was most recently General Manager Development where he led step change improvements to mining capabilities and processing performance. Andrew has over 25 years experience in the resources sector in various technical and management roles with Newcrest, BHP Billiton, Coffey International and Mt Isa Mines.

Colin Moorhead

Executive General Manager Minerals

Colin was appointed Executive General Manager Minerals in January 2008. He is responsible for all geology and exploration activities within Newcrest including Resources and Reserves. He was previously General Manager Technical Services for the Newcrest Group. Colin began his career with BHP Gold over 20 years ago and has extensive geology experience with roles at Newcrest's three major mining provinces - Telfer, Cadia and Gosowong.

Peter Smith

Executive General Manager Australian Operations

Peter was appointed Executive General Manager Australian Operations in September 2010. He is responsible for all Australian operations as well as the Australian Regional Operations Centre. Prior to joining Newcrest, Peter was Chief Operating Officer at Lihir Gold Limited and previous to that an Executive Director of Western Metals Ltd. Mr Smith has over 34 years mining experience across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including a range of senior corporate roles with WMC Resources Ltd, Ensham Resources and Rio Tinto. Peter is also a Director of Evolution Mining.

Debra Stirling

Executive General Manager People and Communications

Debra was appointed Executive General Manager People and Communications in January 2008. She is responsible for the Group's human resources activities. Prior to joining Newcrest, Debra was Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations with Rinker Group Limited. Debra has more than 20 years of corporate affairs and investor relations experience with Rinker, CSR and Coles Myer.
